3 Most Problem In Employee Turnover




Talking about employee turnover, most of time there are several "unaccounted" cost when this problem happened to us. Here's the 3 most "unaccounted" cost : 

#1 CREDIBILITY LOST 

Most of time, there are 2 major happening in credibility when turnover take place. 

a. Inside - Business, credibility relate with leadership. If you have employees that have big influence , and they resign, there are big possibilities the other employee will resign too. 

b. Outside - Business, we will face every difficulties except "inside" business problem. Could be customer service not fulfill just like it was, delayed logistic or something else. 
Several week ago my employee has resign, we face problem exactly just like this. 


#2 CHAIN REACTION 

Imagine there are 100 employee to keep our business running, now there are only 80, or 90 of them. How all those job can be done while you don't have another employee to replace them ? 2 choice for sure : 
a.  now employee have 2 or 3 deskjob to get done ( very-very less effective, distract them for what they're really good at )
b.  you doing it by yourself ( very not recommended, we will exhausted) 


#3 WE LOSS OUR CUSTOMER

When the important employee ( the most affect your business ) leaves, it will impact customer satisfaction. Customer doesn't feel satisfied because they're not met with want and need.Result, your customer will gone. 

In all experience we had, it's important to make a system for employee, starting from how they got accepted, how they got training, all procedures when they work in our business,  until they leaves in your business. Several week ago we make detailed system because several employee that really effect our business is leaves, resulting our customer satisfaction below the standard.  

Now we don't have that  problem, one of very effective system is make the contract very clear. We really have spend a lot of money to train them. If they leaves, they must pay the expense that we spend. 

All of "unaccounted" cost problem is not complicated, because we have " time" when problem occur. The important thing is act quick and right.

Two Strong Point How Workplace Aesthetics Affect Your Business

For people who spending their time in workplace for more than 8 hours a day, what answer you choose ?
a.    “This workplace very inspiring me to give best work from me, I feel weigh on my shoulder lifted , today is the best day to work”
b.    “ This workplace suppress my feeling, I don’t feel this is the best day to work”

I do believe we choose answer “a” right ? Yes, it’s true. We want comfort in our workplace and feel “this is the best day to work” everyday. 

Two years ago, my workplace was very disorganized, or we can say “WYDWTG” (workplace-you-don’t-want-to-go ). I realized it when i feel harder to work. 3 question I’ve been think when my workplace disorganized :

a.    Why does work it’s so hard recently ?
b.    Why does it’s too many step I have to do when I want finish one project ?
c.    Why does my staff have to “ back and forth” and feel not comfort ?

Then I realized, my workplace not like before. I move every tools  far from where we work, because renovation and not move it at the place before, we have 3 of 4  broken desk and chair,  all the data it’s not categorized. It’s stressful. I asked one of my staff to deal with this problem. He offer me proposal with “big fund furniture”, it’s not necessary to our workplace. I have an idea, why we just don’t use from used wood ? but this idea not work, it’s practical but not aesthetics.   So I let all my staff to redecorate our workplace.

So we do a little work to organize my workplace. I move every tools near where we want to get it, I fix all those broken desk and chair, I categorized all the data we need and put it much more “easy view”.  All the move I took is making my workplace become much more aesthetics. Voila ! you know what ? after I set it up on my workplace, all my staff doing it so too. They become organized just like I did. I learned that workplace is “reflection of our leadership.”  



WHEN WE  CHANGE OUR WORKPLACE BECOME MUCH MORE AESTHETICS ?

When ? If one of follow feeling haunted us :

a.    Feel too many step you have to take to get the job done
b.    Feel after you enter workplace, you want to go out again
c.    Feel your staff morale is down
d.    Feel disorganized

Workplace, is place we work with other people, as our staff or partner. We trust these people our business. We can’t be serious in business if we work with them and we found their workplace is disorganized. How your business it’s gonna be ?

BUSINESS CULTURE RELATED

In my opinion, there are two kind of business when we talked about culture related. Formal, and laid-back. Imagine your workplace have something like this : cigarette vending machine, arcade game, a lot of white boards. This could be work for “laid back” business, where we don’t have meet customer directly. But out of question if we apply this to bank, school, or whatever business there may exist that have to obliged face customer directly.  Strength point is  workplace must provide business culture and reflect leadership.

How to offer product or service to our customer




Maybe you often heard about his story :
“ A businessman with a lot of knowledge, make the new product and think “ this product will make a lot of money, I will go outside and tell to everybody with a term that really sound cool, so they think I’m a really competent businessman”, and he go outside and try to sell it, and we found that he :
1.       explain with a lot of terms that we don’t understand
2.       a really wasting time presentation
3.       not competent at all, because he can’t sell the product
Ever heard that story ? Probably you heard it often, because that’s happen with most people outside. So how we doesn’t end up like businessman with such story ? 


Step # 1 KEEP IT VERY SIMPLE 

So, we want them to buy our product right ? we sell to make money in exchange our product or service become benefit for them. Keep it very simple, A businessman like story before explain with totally new terms, he’s made it complicated.
This force customer learn a new terms, which not every customer can learn very quick ( and most people don’t ), and this lead to “customer who doesn’t get it what your means”, if they don’t get what your means, they feel “this is not the product or services I’ve been looking for” because they feel can’t keep up with your explanation. In the end, they don’t want to buy it.
They buy it, because they get what you means. Learn from every businessman that succed selling a huge amount product/ services. They keep it simple. That’s why people get what it means, and think “ I’ve been looking for this product/ service in my whole life”  so they buy it. Sometimes, it wasn’t the product that bad, but person who deliver the message is bad.

Step #2 TIME 

Businessman like such story before think  “I’ll have to explain everything from A to Z”. It seems good if we think like that, explain everything from a-z, but we need time for it,and not everybody have time like we has. But in this case, I like to strengthen the point that most people explained evertything from a to z, at first customer will attracted, but after several explaination coming from “non- stop mouth ”, they think “ there’s  too much time I spent for this, and you wasting my time”.  Step #1 ,  “keep it very simple” really connected with this step #2, if we doing step #1, this #2 step will follow. 
We don’t have to worry about losing customer or what may happen, because a really serious customer will buy our product/ services, if we explain it right and keep it simple. After all, with this step#2 applied, we got 2 benefits :
a.       save our time
b.      save our customer’s time

Step # 3 EASY 

Offer them easy-applied way. Have we think why we have ATM (automatic teller machine) in our neighborhood ? why home appliances business have delivery services ? we just have an account in bank and we can take whenever we want it, not before ATM invented. We just sign the application and pay with credit card and have our goods delivered in front door. Have we ever thinking why does so many business develop innovation all the time to make our life easier and easier ? Because we like easy things, we like simple things.
Think that we can win competitor if we offer them easier way. People doesn’t like hard way.

4 Tips Make People Like You Easily



So maybe we have a lot of friends, but we feel they don’t like you ? if answer is yes, could be this become solution for us.



TIPS  # 1 APPRECIATION
When we meet our friend, ask ourselves “ what is the good things I could admire from this person ?”.  There must be one or two good thing in every person. Could be their clothes, the way they talking, behavior, anything.  We just need training for it, just observe people, we could find a good things one or two. Most people not focus in their observation, that’s why they have a few friends like them or not at all.  But, we must remember, give them honest appreciation.



TIPS # 2 MAKE YOUR FRIENDS IMPORTANT 
Observe for a while my friends. Every person we know that have many friends like them  always make their friends “important”. That’s why they liked by their friends. Write and remember your friends birthday could be a good start. I already try it. Try it. We do promise their gonna like you soon, if we do it from heart and consistently. Think like this, “ Treated like you want to be treated”

TIPS # 3 POLITE 
 Be polite to everyone, even if they’re waitress or maid in your home.  Do you remember when we go to restaurant or cafe ? most people treated them like nobody. Why don’t we treated them with politeness ? A little expression like “would you mind to…”, “ Excuse me…..”, would you be kind enough to…. “ A little expression like that will make us be liked, because we give them a respect.



TIPS # 4 THEIR INTEREST 
When we go meet our friends, probably they doing their hobby or their interest. Ask them many question about it,  “ how about this ? “, “ how about that ?”, “ what do you think if… ? “. A simple question like that will give us higher response from our friends. Suddenly, “visiting friend” agenda from 1 hour become 3 hour or more.

I do this tips for many friends, the result is very-very good. One of best experience i’ve ever had is with my friend who like to cook. When I went to her place, she’s cooking a noodle with special spices made by herself. So I did exactly like this. I ask her what exactly this spices made from, how do you made it, can you use this spice on another food, something like that. You know what ? She’s invite me to dinner, introduced her family and friends, she gave me a lot of “free” good spices. One of my friends become my business partner. And we’re still good friends until now. So you got many benefit when we do this tips.

How We Manage Our Money ? Part 1


Sometimes could be frustrating, we got our earning at beginning of month, and at the end of month we think “ where does my money go ?”. it happen like that again next month, next month after and so on. It becomes most people cycle of life. We have to do something about it, become non of most people by doing “money action”. So how ?

Action # 1 INCOME LIST 

First of all, we list all of our earnings coming from, is it from our job or business. There are 3 different section in income list :
a.       Earned        ( from our job, if we work for money )
b.      Business      ( from business we have )
c.       Portofolio    ( from dividends, royalties, or interest ) 


We could do this in table :

Action # 2 EXPENSE LIST

List where all money we spend, categorized them. We could categorized :
a.       Food                        ( we spend on something we eat or drink )
b.      Transportation          ( could be gas, parking, toll fee, maintenance )
c.       Entertainment           ( CD, DVD, game, cinema, book )
d.      Hygiene                    ( shampoo, deodorant, soap, detergent )
e.      Donation                   ( charity )
f.        Clothes                     ( every fabric product we buy )
g.       Other                       ( family expense, car, cellphone that not  mentioned above ) 

“ do I have something similar in my home ?” 
 
Not all people have to categorized exactly the same as we are, because people spend their money in a different way.

It seems a good way that if every time we put out wallet from our pocket, ask for price notes. Every time. We suggest it strongly because It makes us think twice before buy something. Think like this : “ do I have something similar in my home ?”
